Help with picoCV

Create, edit, and export a CV in your browser. Open picoCV to get started.

Start with an example or a blank CV

Choose a profession or select “Start blank”. Examples use fictional details: replace them with your own. Editing an example creates a personal CV. Use “My CVs” to switch, rename, or copy versions.

Keep an editable backup

Open the menu and choose “Save editable copy (.json)”. To restore it, choose “Open backup (.json)”; it creates a separate document. Browser storage belongs to the browser, profile, and origin. Before moving to another device or clearing browser data, export JSON backups of the CVs you want to keep.

Export PDF or text

Use the PDF button for a text-based PDF, or choose text export in the menu. Exports include only the selected CV. Preview the result before sending it. Text extraction tests do not guarantee how a particular employer’s applicant tracking system will interpret a CV.

Languages

The interface and CV language are independent. English, Polish, Russian, Spanish, French, German, and Italian are available. Changing the CV language adjusts standard headings and dates; it does not translate your own writing.

Connection and browser support

Use a current version of Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari with JavaScript enabled. The website needs a connection for files that have not loaded yet, including fonts for the first PDF export. After a failed download, reconnect and retry. Offline reload is not guaranteed. If autosave is unavailable or storage is full, export a JSON backup before closing the tab.

More help

The editor’s Help and Your data panels explain fields, backups, and deletion. If a Feedback link is configured in the editor, use it to contact the project; attaching personal CV information is not necessary.
